WHY BREW COLD?

When brewing cold, the tea or coffee is never immersed in hot water. This primarily has three benefits - preserving illusive flavors, making it easier to brew tea or coffee, and brewing less acidic beverages.

Although there is no definitive research on how this brewing method affects molecular makeup and preserving flavor molecules, we have found that there is a distinct difference between brewing the same coffee or tea hot versus cold. We have spent years researching the teas and coffees that benefit most from cold brew. Our coffees are even specially roasted for cold brew!

What is PHRYG?

Phryg (pronounced "frij") was founded in San Diego, California with a focus on quality ingredients and convenient brewing methods. The name originates from an abbreviated version of the Phrygian cap, a symbol of freedom, and a pun on fridge. We aim to liberate our views of how tea and coffee should be brewed.
